Council Directive 88/388/EEC of 22 June 1988 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to flavourings for use in foodstuffs and to source materials for their production · European Union

Paragraph 1 shall not affect those national provisions which, in the absence of the Directives referred to in Article 5, apply to certain groups of flavourings or specify the foodstuffs in or on which flavourings complying with the Directive may be used.
