IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM The numbering used shall be from 1 to 19 for plastic, from 20 to 39 for paper and cardboard, from 40 to 49 for metal, from 50 to 59 for wood, from 60 to 69 for textiles and from 70 to 79 for glass. The identification system may also use the abbreviation for the relevant material(s) (e. g. HDPE: high density polyethylene). Materials may be identified by a numbering system and/or abbreviation. The identification marks shall appear in the centre of or below the graphical marking indicating the reusable or recoverable nature of the packaging.
