Council Directive 96/48/EC of 23 July 1996 on the interoperability of the trans-European high-speed rail system · European Union

Where it appears to a Member State or the Commission that European specifications do not meet the essential requirements, partial or total withdrawal of the specifications concerned from the publications containing them, or their amendments, may be decided upon in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 21 (2) after consultation of the Committee set up under Council Directive 83/189/EEC of 28 March 1983 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations (10) where European standards are concerned.
