Council Directive 98/58/EC of 20 July 1998 concerning the protection of animals kept for farming purposes · European Union
Whenever uniform application of the requirements of this Directive renders it necessary, veterinary experts from the Commission may, in conjunction with the competent authorities; verify that the Member States are complying with the said requirements; make on-the-spot checks to ensure that the checks are carried out in accordance with this Directive.
