Council Regulation (EC) No 1257/1999 of 17 May 1999 on support for rural development from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF) and amending and repealing certain Regulations · European Union

Support for the afforestation of agricultural land shall not be granted: for farmers benefiting from early retirement support, in respect of the planting of Christmas trees. In the case of fast-growing species cultivated in the short term, support for afforestation shall be granted for planting costs only.
