The Community initiatives shall cover the following fields: cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation intended to encourage the harmonious, balanced and sustainable development of the whole of the Community area ("Interreg"); economic and social regeneration of cities and of urban neighbourhoods in crisis with a view to promoting a sustainable urban development ("URBAN"); rural development ("Leader"); transnational cooperation to promote new means of combating all forms of discrimination and inequalities in connection with the labour market ("EQUAL").
