Directive 2000/31/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2000 on certain legal aspects of information society services, in particular electronic commerce, in the Internal Market ('Directive on electronic commerce') · European Union

Member States shall establish contact points which shall be accessible at least by electronic means and from which recipients and service providers may: obtain general information on contractual rights and obligations as well as on the complaint and redress mechanisms available in the event of disputes, including practical aspects involved in the use of such mechanisms; obtain the details of authorities, associations or organisations from which they may obtain further information or practical assistance.
