Article 16 › 6

Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2000 establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy · European Union

The Commission shall submit proposals, where appropriate, for controls to achieve: (a) the progressive reduction of discharges, emissions and losses of priority substances; and (b) in particular the cessation or phasing-out of discharges, emissions and losses of the priority hazardous substances as identified in accordance with paragraph 3, including, where appropriate, a timetable for doing so within 20 years of the designation of the substances as priority hazardous substances.
