Directive 2001/16/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 March 2001 on the interoperability of the trans-European conventional rail system · European Union

For the purposes of this Directive, the system constituting the trans-European conventional rail system may be broken down into the following two subsystems, either: structural areas: infrastructure; energy; control and command and signalling; traffic operation and management; rolling stock; or operational areas: maintenance; telematics applications for passenger and freight services.
