Directive 2001/17/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 March 2001 on the reorganisation and winding-up of insurance undertakings · European Union

insurance claims shall, with respect to the whole of the insurance undertaking's assets, take precedence over any other claim on the insurance undertaking with the only possible exception of: claims by employees arising from employment contracts and employment relationships, claims by public bodies on taxes, claims by social security systems, claims on assets subject to rights in rem.
