Strategic noise mapping will be used for the following purposes: the provision of the data to be sent to the Commission in accordance with Article 10(2) and Annex VI, a source of information for citizens in accordance with Article 9, a basis for action plans in accordance with Article 8. Each of those applications requires a different type of strategic noise map.
