By 15 July 2026, the Commission shall publish a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union concerning whether one or both of the following conditions have been met: (a) the average TTF gas price for the six calendar months ending 30 June 2026 was higher than the average TTF gas price in February and March 2022; (b) the average Brent crude oil price for the six calendar months ending 30 June 2026 was more than twice the average Brent crude oil price during the five preceding years; the five-year reference period shall be the five-year period that ends before the first month of the period of six calendar months.
