Article 4 › 1

Directive 2004/35/CE of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 April 2004 on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying of environmental damage · European Union

This Directive shall not cover environmental damage or an imminent threat of such damage caused by: (a) an act of armed conflict, hostilities, civil war or insurrection; (b) a natural phenomenon of exceptional, inevitable and irresistible character.
