Article 1

Directive 2004/39/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 April 2004 on markets in financial instruments amending Council Directives 85/611/EEC and 93/6/EEC and Directive 2000/12/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Directive 93/22/EEC · European Union

Scope 1. This Directive shall apply to investment firms and regulated markets. 2. The following provisions shall also apply to credit institutions authorised under Directive 2000/12/EC, when providing one or more investment services and/or performing investment activities: Articles 2(2), 11, 13 and 14, Chapter II of Title II excluding Article 23(2) second subparagraph, Chapter III of Title II excluding Articles 31(2) to 31(4) and 32(2) to 32(6), 32(8) and 32(9), Articles 48 to 53, 57, 61 and 62, and Article 71(1).
