Directive 2006/40/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 relating to emissions from air conditioning systems in motor vehicles and amending Council Directive 70/156/EEC (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

For the purpose of granting whole vehicle type-approval pursuant to Article 4(1)(a) of Directive 70/156/EEC, Member States shall ensure that manufacturers supply information on the type of refrigerant used in air-conditioning systems fitted to new motor vehicles.
