Council Regulation (EC) No 510/2006 of 20 March 2006 on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs · European Union

Where the registration application relates to a geographical area in a given Member State, the application shall be addressed to that Member State. The Member State shall scrutinise the application by appropriate means to check that it is justified and meets the conditions of this Regulation.
