Fluorinated greenhouse gas Chemical Formula Global warming potential (GWP) Sulphur hexafluoride SF_(6) 22200 Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs): HFC-23 CHF_(3) 12000 HFC-32 CH_(2)F_(2) 550 HFC-41 CH_(3)F 97 HFC-43-10mee C_(5)H_(2)F_(10) 1500 HFC-125 C_(2)HF_(5) 3400 HFC-134 C_(2)H_(2)F_(4) 1100 HFC-134a CH_(2)FCF_(3) 1300 HFC-152a C_(2)H_(4)F_(2) 120 HFC-143 C_(2)H_(3)F_(3) 330 HFC-143a C_(2)H_(3)F_(3) 4300 HFC-227ea C_(3)HF_(7) 3500 HFC-236cb CH_(2)FCF_(2)CF_(3) 1300 HFC-236ea CHF_(2)CHFCF_(3) 1200 HFC-236fa C_(3)H_(2)F_(6) 9400 HFC-245ca C_(3)H_(3)F_(5) 640 HFC-245fa CHF_(2)CH_(2)CF_(3) 950 HFC-365mfc CF_(3)CH_(2)CF_(2)CH_(3) 890 Perfluorocarbons (PFCs): Perfluoromethane CF_(4) 5700 Perfluoroethane C_(2)F_(6) 11900 Perfluoropropane C_(3)F_(8) 8600 Perfluorobutane C_(4)F_(10) 8600 Perfluoropentane C_(5)F_(12) 8900 Perfluorohexane C_(6)F_(14) 9000 Perfluorocyclobutane c-C_(4)F_(8) 10000 The total GWP for a preparation is a weighted average, derived from the sum of the weight fractions of the individual substances multiplied by their GWPs. Σ (Substance X % x GWP) + (Substance Y % x GWP) + … (Substance N % x GWP) where % is the contribution by weight with a weight tolerance of +/- 1 %. For example: applying the formula to a theoretical blend of gases consisting of 23 % HFC-32; 25 % HFC-125 and 52 % HFC-134a; Σ (23 % x 550) + (25 % x 3400) + (52 % x 1300) → Total GWP = 1652,5
