Directive 2007/64/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 November 2007 on payment services in the internal market amending Directives 97/7/EC, 2002/65/EC, 2005/60/EC and 2006/48/EC and repealing Directive 97/5/EC (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

Apart from the provision of payment services listed in the Annex payment institutions shall be entitled to engage in the following activities: the provision of operational and closely related ancillary services such as ensuring the execution of payment transactions, foreign exchange services, safekeeping activities, and the storage and processing of data; the operation of payment systems, without prejudice to Article 28; business activities other than the provision of payment services, having regard to applicable Community and national law.
