1. List of subsystems

Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community (Recast) (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

For the purposes of this Directive, the system constituting the rail system may be broken down into the following subsystems, either: structural areas: infrastructure, energy, control-command and signalling, rolling stock; functional areas: traffic operation and management, maintenance, telematics applications for passenger and freight services.
