Directive 2008/57/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the interoperability of the rail system within the Community (Recast) (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

In the cases referred to in paragraph 1(a), (c) and (e), the Commission shall check that the file is in conformity and shall inform the Member State of the results of its analysis. Where necessary, a recommendation shall be drawn up concerning the specifications to be applied. The Member State may apply the alternative provisions referred to in Annex IX without delay.
