(24) The provisions of this Directive are without prejudice to the Community legislation governing the safety conditions under which biological agents and genetically modified organisms, regulated under Council Directive 90/219/EEC of 23 April 1990 on the contained use of genetically modified micro-organisms OJ L 117, 8.5.1990, p. 1. , Directive 2001/18/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 March 2001 on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms OJ L 106, 17.4.2001, p. 1. and Directive 2000/54/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 September 2000 on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to biological agents at work OJ L 262, 17.10.2000, p. 21. , should be transported.
