DIRECTIVE 2008/98/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

Member States shall lay down criteria regarding the qualifications that producer responsibility organisations need to have in order to be entrusted to fulfil extended producer responsibility obligations on behalf of producers. In particular, Member States shall require the producer responsibility organisations to demonstrate the necessary expertise in waste management and sustainability.
