Regulation (EC) No 110/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 January 2008 on the definition, description, presentation, labelling and the protection of geographical indications of spirit drinks and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 1576/89 · European Union

Blending Blending means combining two or more spirit drinks of the same category, distinguished only by minor differences in composition due to one or more of the following factors: the method of preparation; the stills employed; the period of maturation or ageing; the geographical area of production. The spirit drink so produced shall be of the same category of spirit drink as the original spirit drinks before blending.
