Article 19

The Community shall make a financial contribution to the establishment of an information policy in the field of animal health, animal welfare and food safety in products of animal origin, including: the installation and development of information tools, including an appropriate database for: gathering and storing all information relating to Community legislation concerning animal health, animal welfare and food safety in products of animal origin; disseminating the information referred in point (i) to the competent authorities, producers and consumers, taking into account interfaces with national databases where appropriate; the performance of studies necessary for the preparation and development of legislation in the field of animal welfare.
