Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

In 2021, the Commission shall present a report reviewing the application of this Directive. That report shall, in particular, address the role of the following elements in having enabled Member States to achieve the national targets defined in Annex I on the best cost-benefit basis: the process of preparing forecasts and national renewable energy action plans; the effectiveness of the cooperation mechanisms; technological developments in energy from renewable sources, including the development of the use of biofuels in commercial aviation; the effectiveness of the national support schemes; and the conclusions of the Commission reports referred to in paragraphs 8 and 9.
