Directive 2009/33/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road transport vehicles (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

The operational energy and environmental impacts to be taken into account shall include at least the following: energy consumption; emissions of CO_(2); and emissions of NO_(x), NMHC and particulate matter. In addition to the operational energy and environmental impacts mentioned in the first subparagraph, contracting authorities, contracting entities and operators may also consider other environmental impacts.
