The national reference laboratories for avian diseases designated in accordance with Article 4 shall be responsible in each Member State for coordinating the diagnostic methods provided for in this Directive. To this end: they may supply approved laboratories with the reagents needed for diagnostic testing; they shall monitor the quality of reagents used by the laboratories approved for the purpose of carrying out the diagnostic tests provided for in this Directive; they shall organise periodic comparative tests.
