Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 concerning type-approval requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, their trailers and systems, components and separate technical units intended therefor (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

Paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 shall not apply to: tyres whose speed rating is less than 80 km/h; tyres whose nominal rim diameter does not exceed 254 mm or is 635 mm or more; T-type temporary-use spare tyres; tyres designed only to be fitted to vehicles registered for the first time before 1 October 1990; tyres fitted with additional devices to improve traction properties.
