By dermal route Testing by the dermal route is necessary only if: inhalation of the substance is unlikely, or skin contact in production and/or use is likely, and either the physicochemical and toxicological properties suggest potential for a significant rate of absorption through the skin, or the results of an in vitro dermal penetration study (OECD 428) demonstrate high dermal absorption and bioavailability
