(25) To avoid possible negative effects on the environment, biocidal products that can no longer lawfully be made available on the market should be dealt with in accordance with Union legislation on waste, in particular Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste OJ L 312, 22.11.2008, p. 3. , as well as national legislation implementing that legislation.
