Article 5

1. The association is the framework for policy dialogue and cooperation on issues of mutual interest. 2. Priority shall be given to cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as: the economic diversification of OCTs economies, including their further integration in world and regional economies; the promotion of green growth; the sustainable management of natural resources, including the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services; the adaptation to and mitigation of impacts of climate change; the promotion of disaster risk reduction; the promotion of research, innovation and scientific cooperation activities; the promotion of social, cultural and economic exchanges between the OCTs, their neighbours and other partners. 3. Cooperation in the areas of mutual interest aims at the promotion of OCTs self-reliance and of the development of OCTs’ capacities to formulate, implement and monitor strategies and policies set out in paragraph 2.
