For the following vehicles, the manufacturer may choose whether to apply for approval under this Regulation or whether to comply with the relevant national requirements: trailers (category R) and interchangeable towed equipment (category S); track-laying tractors (category C); special purpose wheeled tractors (categories T4.1 and T4.2).
