Article 49

Regulation (EU) No 952/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 October 2013 laying down the Union Customs Code (recast) · European Union

1. Customs controls or formalities shall be carried out in respect of the cabin and hold baggage of persons either taking an intra-Union flight, or making an intra-Union sea crossing, only where the customs legislation provides for such controls or formalities. 2. Paragraph 1 shall apply without prejudice to either of the following: security and safety checks; checks linked to prohibitions or restrictions.
