Die Mitgliedstaaten können den anfänglichen, in Unterabsatz 1 genannten Zeitraum bis zu maximal vier Jahren ausdehnen, wenn das Einlagensicherungssystem insgesamt Auszahlungen in Höhe von über 0,8 % der gedeckten Einlagen vorgenommen hat.
