Member States shall ensure that repayments are made in any of the following: (a) the currency of the Member State where the DGS is located; (b) the currency of the Member State where the account holder is resident; (c) euro; (d) the currency of the account; (e) the currency of the Member State where the account is located. Depositors shall be informed of the currency of repayment. If accounts were maintained in a currency different from that of the payout, the exchange rate used shall be that of the date on which the relevant administrative authority makes a determination as referred to in point (8)(a) of Article 2(1) or when a judicial authority makes a ruling as referred to in point (8)(b) of Article 2(1).
