The competent authorities may refer to ESMA situations where a request relating to one of the following has been rejected or has not been acted upon within a reasonable time: (a) to carry out a supervisory activity, an on-the-spot verification, or an investigation, as provided for in Article 80; or (b) to exchange information as provided for in Article 81.
