When placing their pressure equipment or assemblies referred to in Article 4(1) and (2) on the market or using them for their own purposes, manufacturers shall ensure that they have been designed and manufactured in accordance with the essential safety requirements set out in Annex I. When placing their pressure equipment or assemblies referred to in Article 4(3) on the market or using them for their own purposes, manufacturers shall ensure that they have been designed and manufactured in accordance with the sound engineering practice of a Member State.
