Grants may be awarded to Member States for programmes that they carry out for the control of pests in the outermost regions of the Union referred to in Article 349 TFEU in line with the objectives set out in Article 2 of Regulation (EU) No 228/2013 (‘programmes for the outermost regions’). Those grants shall concern activities necessary to ensure the correct implementation in those regions of the rules, whether they are Union rules or national rules, in force in those regions, on the control of pests.
