Directive (EU) 2016/797 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the interoperability of the rail system within the European Union (recast) (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

In its application for a vehicle authorisation for placing on the market, the applicant shall specify the area of use of the vehicle. The application shall include evidence that the technical compatibility between the vehicle and the network of the area of use has been checked.
