Article 24

Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health (‘Animal Health Law’) (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

For the purpose of detecting the presence of listed diseases and emerging diseases, operators shall: observe the health and behaviour of animals under their responsibility; observe any changes in the normal production parameters in the establishments, animals or germinal products under their responsibility that may give rise to a suspicion of being caused by a listed disease or emerging disease; look for abnormal mortalities and other signs of serious disease in animals under their responsibility.
