The Data Protection Officer shall be selected on the basis of his or her personal and professional qualities and, in particular, the expert knowledge of data protection. It shall be ensured in the selection of the Data Protection Officer that no conflict of interest may result from the performance of his or her duty in that capacity and from any other official duties, in particular those relating to the application of this Regulation.
