Article 17

Regulation (EU) 2016/796 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the European Union Agency for Railways and repealing Regulation (EC) No 881/2004 (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

The Agency shall follow developments in the legislation dealing with the transport of dangerous goods by rail within the meaning of Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 September 2008 on the inland transport of dangerous goods (OJ L 260, 30.9.2008, p. 13). and shall, together with the Commission, ensure that such developments are consistent with the legislation dealing with rail safety and interoperability, in particular the essential requirements. To that end, the Agency shall assist the Commission and may issue recommendations at the Commission's request or on its own initiative.
