Directive (EU) 2017/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 November 2017 amending Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (Text with EEA relevance. ) · European Union

Article 5 is amended as follows: in paragraph 2, the second subparagraph is replaced by the following: ‘For the exemptions listed in Annex III as at 21 July 2011, unless a shorter period is specified, the maximum validity period, which may be renewed, shall be: (a) for categories 1 to 7 and category 10 of Annex I, 5 years from 21 July 2011; (b) for categories 8 and 9 of Annex I, 7 years from the relevant dates laid down in Article 4(3); and (c) for category 11 of Annex I, 5 years from 22 July 2019.’; in paragraph 4, the following point is inserted: ‘(ba) within 1 month of receipt of an application, provide to the applicant, the Member States and the European Parliament a timeline for the adoption of its decision on the application;’; in paragraph 5, the first sentence of the second subparagraph is deleted.
