Article 37

Where a TSO uses a special protection scheme, it shall: ensure that each special protection scheme acts selectively, reliably and effectively; evaluate, when designing a special protection scheme, the consequences for the transmission system in the event of its incorrect functioning, taking into account the impact on TSOs concerned; verify that the special protection scheme has a comparable reliability to the protection systems used for the primary protection of transmission system elements; operate the transmission system with the special protection scheme within the operational security limits determined in accordance with Article 25; and coordinate special protection scheme functions, activation principles and setpoints with neighbouring TSOs and affected transmission-connected DSOs, including closed distribution systems and affected transmission-connected SGUs.
