Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2019/174 of 16 November 2018 amending, for the purposes of adapting to scientific and technical progress, Annex III to Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards an exemption for lead bound in crystal glass as defined in Directive 69/493/EEC (Text with EEA relevance.) · European Union

(3) Lead is a restricted substance listed in Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU. The use of lead bound in crystal glass as defined in Annex I (Categories 1, 2, 3 and 4) to Council Directive 69/493/EEC Council Directive 69/493/EEC of 15 December 1969 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to crystal glass (OJ L 326, 29.12.1969, p. 36). was, however, exempted from the restriction and is currently listed in entry 29 of Annex III to Directive 2011/65/EU. The expiry date of that exemption was, for categories 1 to 7 and 10, 21 July 2016.
