Competent authorities shall use the confidential information collected, exchanged or transmitted pursuant to this Directive and to Regulation (EU) 2019/2033 only for the purpose of carrying out their duties, and in particular for the following purposes: (a) to monitor the prudential rules set out in this Directive and in Regulation (EU) 2019/2033; (b) to impose sanctions; (c) in administrative appeals against decisions of the competent authorities; (d) in court proceedings initiated under Article 23.
