Former Deputy-Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Rear Admiral. Responsible for commanding Russian forces that have occupied Ukrainian sovereign territory. On 26 September 2017, with a Decree of the President of Russian Federation, he was dismissed from this post and from military service. Since September 2017, he is a member of the Federation Council of Russian Federation, representing the annexed City of Sevastopol.
