Member States shall ensure that creditors and credit intermediaries require their staff to possess and keep up-to-date an appropriate level of knowledge and competence in relation to the manufacturing, the offering and the granting of credit agreements, the carrying out of credit intermediation activities and the provision of advisory services, as well as in relation to consumer rights in the area of their trade. Where the conclusion of a credit agreement includes ancillary services, appropriate knowledge and competence in relation to those ancillary services shall be required.
