| 7.4. | The manufacturer shall ask the notified body to review the EU type-examination certificate either: (a) in the case of a modification to the approved type referred to in point 7.2; (b) in the case of a change in the state of the art referred to in point 7.3; (c) at the latest, before the date of expiry of the certificate. In the case referred to in point (c), the review may lead to a renewal of the EU type-examination certificate only when the application is submitted by the manufacturer at the earliest 12 months and at the latest 6 months prior to the expiry date of the EU type-examination certificate. Where the manufacturer fails to comply with the deadlines mentioned above, the review may lead only to an approval in the form of an addition to the original EU type-examination certificate and the expiry date of the certificate shall be that of the original certificate.
