REGULATION (EU) 2023/1542 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 12 July 2023 concerning batteries and waste batteries, amending Directive 2008/98/EC and Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repealing Directive 2006/66/EC (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

In Article 8a(7) of Directive 2008/98/EC, the following subparagraph is added: ‘ ►C1 For batteries, as defined in Article 3(1), point (1), of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( *4 ) ◄ , Member States shall take measures to ensure that extended producer responsibility schemes that have been established before 4 July 2018, comply with this Article by 18 August 2025.
